minimize doesn't appear in taskbar

Can anyone help. I recently installed ie7 which caused a couple of prblems
the 1st being my HP director scanning software wouldn't operate, the second
being that minimize to taskbar stopped working. I have removed ie7 form the
system by uninstalling the update. Now my scanners fine again, but I still
can't minimize open pages to the taskbar. I can only retreive them by using
the Alt & Tab keys or by opening task manager. Does anyone have a solution to
this problem as its driving me crazy. many thanx
