Business Contact Manager won't let me do what I need to

I am running into brick walls with BCM. I use BCM to contact customers, and
just imported a CSV file with contact information to a folder I labeled
"Prospects". However the resulting address cards are not the cards I want to
use. The cards I prefer to use enable me to add phone logs, tasks, etc with
one simple click. The cards created for the imported customers are the more
detailed cards, but they don't allow me to add the phone logs and other
things. I tried to create a journal entry and link it to the history, but I
can't access the "Prospects" folder, thus making it impossible to link a
journal entry to the contact! You would think MS engineers would have figured
that was important. DUH!!!! BCM also won't allow me to create folders or
subfolders for BCM. Another "DUH" feature. Does anyone know of a work-around?

I would recommend that you review the BCM users guide because from how you
have stated things, it sounds like you are possibly confusing and trying to
mix various Outlook functions you are familiar with BCM. What you are trying
to do requires some variations in the tool commands when using BCM. Also,
where is this "Prospects" folder? Is it in your Outlook PST or is it in the
separate BCM database? Also, what view option have you selected for your
contacts display? Also, Journal entries do not work with BCM Contacts.
There is a separate folder (Business History) that operates as a close cousin
to the native Journal folder in Outlook. Outlook and BCM are separate
applications that share the same user interface in Outlook. This can lead a
lot of folks to expect that everything they are familiar with in Outlook will
work the same way using BCM. You are able to do what you are stating but
it's just a matter of becoming more familiar with how to do it in BCM. I am
only going by how your message reads so don't take offense with my advice to
read and learn more from the BCM users guide. If you come back here with
specific how-to requests there are a lot of good folks here that will help
you with replies if they can.

No offense taken. When I first installed BCM, there was no Help file or user
guide installed with it, just a message saying I could get help online.
However I just installed the update and there is actually a help file/user
guide now so I'll have to review it, which is how I prefer to find solutions
anyway. As for the Prospects folder, it is in the Outlook portion since BCM
doesn't allow me to add folders and I am restricted to the Accounts and
Business Contacts folders.

Now I have an even BIGGER problem. I just ran the udate and ALL of my
Accounts and Business Contacts have disappeared!!! How do I restore them?

Did you by chance choose a new db instead of pointing to the existing db?
Click on Business Tools, Create or Select a Database and see if your old
database is in the dropdown list in the Select Database section.
