Business Contact Manager issue with "Add Time Stamp"

While in a Business Contact in BCM, under "Details", in the "Comments"
section at the bottom, there is a button to "Add Time Stamp". We have used
this function for a couple of years on three computers in our small business
office. All the sudden one day, it stops working for our Marketing Leader
(of course, the person who uses it the MOST). When she clicks on the button,
she gets the "BCM could not complete your last request. Please try again."
message. However, no amount of trying again works. I have looked for a
solution on microsofts website, we've installed all up to date service packs
and have even tried un-installing BCM and re-installing it TWICE. All to no
avail. If anyone else has had this problem and knows a solution, we would
sure appreciate some help. Thanks!

Donna,
I'm winging this, as I do with all my BCM questions.

First I'd create a backup, then check the DB for errors. If it's error-free,
then I would lean toward her settings, ie. her UserID.

It's possible her UserID is corrupt. You could run the Share DB wizard from
BCM first and reselect her. That's what I would do first. Oh and check her PC
for performance/memory with BCM loaded, because I've found the BCM is heavy
user of memory because of the backend and this sounds like a DB timeout error.

Finally I would read this Microsoft article - KB953745, specifically the
section entitled:
Error messages when you try to share the Business Contact Manager database.

When you try to share a Business Contact Manager database by using the Share
Database wizard, you may receive the following error message:

Business Contact Manager could not complete your last action or actions.
Please try again.

This issue occurs if the value of the database owner (DBO) in the affected
database is a NULL value, instead of a valid user ID. <more>

I know the message and situation are different, and she may not be the
owner, and this problem in the KB affects all users, not just one user, but
the timing out is still IMO a db issue. I'd run that SQL query and just see
if her ID is null or not. You're right, the MSFT site has NO info on this
error message. We're on our own, brothers and sisters!
