Business Contact Manager is very slow

Although I can see the benefits of the provided functionality, the Business
Contact Manager runs very slow. sqlservr.exe is always at 100% cpu.
It does not matter what hardware is used. 2GHz and 1Gb of Ram makes no
difference.

I believe an improvement in performance would give this took (BCM) a better
chance to be used by much more Outlook users.

I agree! SQL is normally very fast and I can't understand how the designer
of this database can make such a bad example of its own product!

Same here. I have a brand new laptop (HP Compaq nx 8220), with lots of CPU
(1,73), RAM (512MB) and my hard drive almost clean. I decided to give the new
Office Beta a try and installed Outlook with BCM recently. Despite some
serious drawbacks (constant crashes, problem with stability, lack of
possibility to modify contacts en masse), the software seems to be of great
use and functionality.

Alas, the performance problems are making it unusable. It takes between 2
and 7 minutes to open Outlook for me (even with all other non-essential
processes closed), switching to the contacts tab takes long as well. Then,
every change in the data, be it downloading new mail or deleting a contact,
takes ages and is a great pain. Even in idle mode the Outlook with BCM
consumes up to 70K of my RAM, with sqlservr eating up additional 16K (not to
mention the new search indexer).

This definitely needs to be fixed. Otherwise people (incl. yours truly)
would stick to better, more reliable software out there.
