Business Contact Manager and Public Folders

Can BCM be used with Public Folders rather than the contacts from a
particular mailbox?
 
BCM Contacts have their own folders and are not related to "mailbox
contacts"--I'm assuming here that you mean Contacts stored in an Outlook PST
file.

You can move mailbox Contacts to BCM folders. I also assume you can move
Contacts from Exchange Public Folders to BCM, but I've never tried that.
