Burning VCD

Hi. I created a slide show (with special effects, including background
music) using Photo Story 3. I saved it so I could burn it into a VCD. Do I
need a DVD burner to burn it? I saved it in VCD format because I only had a
CD burner. I thought saving it in VCD format would enable me to burn it
using CD burner but it didn't seem to work (I burned it using the Photo Story
that came with Microsoft Digital Image Suite 10). Only the background music
was recorded, not the photo slide show.

Thanks for the insight.

To create a VCD, you do not need a DVD burner.
All you need is a blank CD and a CD burner.

Ok...you created the Story with PhotoStory 3 and
you want to create a VCD with Digital Image Library
10.

I no longer have version 10 of the Library so I cannot
test the following steps but I think it will work. I do
have PhotoStory 2 that came with Plus! Digital Media
Edition and it works with it.

"How to open a Movie Maker .wmv file or
a PhotoStory 3 .wmv file in the retail version
of PhotoStory 2 and burn a VCD"

First...create a new folder on your desktop
and name it PhotoStory.

Now, create a PhotoStory in PhotoStory2
with just one image...save the .wmv file
in your new folder.

Next...rename your completed Movie Maker
..wmv or PS3 .wmv file exactly the same
name as the Photo Story file.

Next...copy/paste the Movie Maker file into
the PhotoStory folder.

You should see a dialog box that says:

Would you like to replace the existing file
with this one?

Click...Yes.

Now...if you reopen PhotoStory2 and select:
"Play a Story or Use a Story to Create a VCD"
Your renamed file should be available.

Good luck.

It took me a while to figure out the steps you outlined but I eventually got
it. I purchased Plus! Digital Media and followed your instructions. It
worked! Thanks very much for your help.
