After saving the project to the CD, I have found that the CD is created with
WMV.

Therefore i cannot use that CD in my VCD player.

Please tell me, how do i burn my movie maker project to a CD so that i could
play it on my VCD player.

Thnx....

I tried TPMGenc and VCDEasy and found out that VCDEasy only supports Mpeg1
which made a poor quality slide show. So I followed Papa Johns advice and
from MM2 saved the project as a CD-AVI file, then I used Nero and burned a
much better slide show with music that works perfect in my DVD player. Nero
will convert the CD-AVI file to an Mpeg2 automatically. To save as a CD-AVI
from MM2 click Save to my computer then name the file and click next. Then
click the drop down menu in "other settings" and scroll down to CD-AVI and
click next. I hope this helps. I just figured all this out myself by reading
Papa Johns web site and from his posts. Check other posts for his web site
link. Thanx Papa John !!!

VCDeasy only supports mpeg1, because it is an app designed for making VCD's,
which are mpeg1. As you have found there are lots of other apps to make
mpeg2 svcd or dvd slideshows.

Thanks Budman for u r answer..

As I have a 30 Minutes project, which i converted to DV-AVI.

After saving the project to AVI, I found that the size of converted AVI file
is 7 GB.

Thus writing that file for VCD is immpossible.

Please tell me if I am doing mistake in something...

Thnx...

Tanveer,

Convert your WMV or DV AVI file into MPEG1 or MPEG2 using TMPGenc.
Then use VCDEasy to make VCD or SVCD.

If your standalone DVD player supports miniDVD then you may be better off
with this format as it is a DVD layed over a normal CD. For this use TMPGenc
to make an MPEG with DVD as target, before you proceed change the bitrate to
4Mbps VBR 2 pass. After the MPEG2 is ready. Use DVDAuthorGUI or DVDStyler to
make a DVD on the hard disk. it will produce two folders VIDEO_TS and
AUDIO_TS. Then burn these folders to your CD using normal cd burning
software in data mode.

All software mentioned here is completely free except TMPGenc which is free
except for MPEG2 creation which has 30 day limit.
