Burn DVDs with Windows Movie maker?

David

Hello

I have the software Windows Movie Maker on my Packard Bell PC. It seems there is
no information on how to make good DVDs by recording from a DV camera.

What quality should I chose to get the best quality in order to burn a
DVD.

The original comes from a video 8 tape that I've digitalized via a
Canon camera with digital-analogue converter.

Which quality should I use to get the best possible DVD from this?

Is there no alternative between "DV-AVI" and "Good video quality"?

I would like to fit at least two hours on each DVD.

Is'nt this possible with Windows Movie Maker? Do I need another software?

Regards

David

You can't burn DVDs with Movie Maker or any software included with
WinXP. Go to www.ahead.com and take a look at Nero 6.X. Probably
the best package currently available for burning DVDs.

What program do you use? Is it possible to set the quality to e.g. 1,5 hours
in e.g. Pinnacle?

I believe Windows Movie Maker only outputs AVI files. DVD format is MP2,
720 X 480 at 30 Frames per second.
Your DVD burner probably came with some software to capture, edit and burn
a DVD, if not you should buy some,
because WMM is more oriented towards computer applications, rather than DVD set tops.
Don't skimp on the quality of the video. I can generally get about 1 hr 30
min of full DVD quality video on a disk.

I'm using Ulead Movie factory 2. It only gives you three output options, DVD, VCD and SVCD. The program shows
how much video time the clips use, but you don't find out whether it all fits on the disk untill you get to the render and burn stage
That's when I found out through trial and error that I can only depend on getting about 90 minutes per disk. I gues
that lead in and lead out along with other disk info takes up a bunch of space. I would rather have the best video quality and get les
on the disk
