burn cd's

I have a tdk dvd / cd burner and a yamaha cd burner with
the tdk I can burn dvd's but no cd's and the yamaha I
can't burn cd's. (no errors but it just freezes) When I
boot in safe mode I can burn cd's but in safe mode with
networking I can't. I am using roxio easy cd creator
classic. I am running windows xp with service pack 1 and
all recomended updates.

any thoughts?

Hi;
You've met with usual DUAL burner syndrome.
The simple solution is to keep the DVD/CD burner only.
Otherwise you get the clashes you described.

I tried disconnecting the cd burner and still have the
problem.

Which version of Roxio are you using? Version 4 had some problems running
correctly under XP... Check for updates...
