Bullets and Symbols

When trying to insert a symbol or select a new bullet, I am unable to make a
selection from the list. My computer is not frozen; I just can select
anything. This has just recently begun to happen. Does anyone have a
solution<
 
If you can click on Insert | Symbol, and see the symbols, but cannot
select one, it's usually because the x-mouse feature in the TweakUI
PowerToy is enabled.
 
I'm not sure what that means. How do I disable it? I don't know what
TweakUI PowerToy is.
 
Thanks. I actually had to install Tweak UI and once I did, I was able to
correct the problem.
