Adjust or Add Symbols?

I frequently use the solid bullet that is located in the symbols library. In
Word 2003 there were a few different sized bullets from which to choose. In
Word 2007, the bullet is too fat for the font size I'm using.

The best solution I've been able to come up with so far is to insert the fat
bullet, select it, decrease the font size of the bullet, and then have to
reset the font size for the text to follow. This is time-consuming. Are there
any other alternatives? Any way to add a smaller bullet to the symbols
library?

Thanks!

There are several bullets in "(normal text)" though the default bullet in
Word 2003 is one from the Symbol font. In Word 2003, you can choose
Character..., which opens the Symbol dialog, in which you can browse
different fonts for more bullets. I'm not sure whether you can do something
similar in Word 2007 or not.

If you use "Format > Bullet and Numbering", you can set the font size of the
bullet and it won't influence the font size of the following text.
Best, create a bullet paragraph style using that.

Or you could format the bullet the way you want, select it, and create a
formatted AutoCorrect for it (say, #bullet# or something shorter you can
remember easily).

Finally: Which font and which bullet are you using? The commonly fonts like
Arial and TNR have two differently sized round black bullets: 25CF and 2022.
(Type the number, then use Alt+X to toggle between the code and the
character)

Klaus

Thank you for responding, Suzanne. Klaus' solution worked for me! But I
appreciate that you took the time to try.

Best wishes,

I thought you were talking about a bulleted list. For inserting single
bullets, I have assigned my favorite one to the Ctrl+Shift+B keyboard
shortcut.
