Oh and the computer is for gaming

PS Ian do you not remember me? will be about 10 years since we've seen eachother. Looks like your doing well for your self lol

Welcome to PC Review Dannyt - I'm sure Ian will pop by soon and say hi too :)

Looks compatible to me - you have the best value Conroe, the PSU is good, the Mobo is good value and OC's well etc etc.

Can't comment on the Graphics Card - not really my thing - but was wondering whether you might want to consider getting 2GB of RAM?

Hey Adywebb thanks for the warm welcome, to gig of ram is planned just for a near future upgrade as 1gb saves me around 100 pounds for now. and i hope it will be able to cope with upcoming games such as armed assault (new operation flashpoint) and anything coming out before xmas

Hey Danny - as in round the corner from me when I used to live back in Newcastle? I saw your dad the other day and he told me about your PC build :)

I'll have gander at the graphics card and the rest tomorrow, as I've only just seen this thread now so I'll research it properly :D

Good to hear from you again!

One point ... SATA II provides updates to the SATA 1.0 specifications including new features and a possible increase in transfer rates from 1.5Gb/sec to 3.0Gb/sec if drive manufacturers decide to implement these features in their products.

I'd check and make sure its a 3.0Gb/sec hard drive & fully SATA II capable ... just watch the numbers.

;)

I've just had a look at the graphics card, and it seems like a good choice - especially if you will be making use of the video in/out functions.

That monitor looks like a bargin for a 20" LCD - I've not heard much about the make before, but the 26 customer reviews there seem to think it is great :)

Aye thats right Ian you got it in one, yeah it was my dad that pointed me in the direction of this site. Its very informative just what i need while building this PC. Yeah i read all the reviews for the monitor aswel they seem very positive. Muckshifter... i belive the motherboard is compatible with SATAII and the hard drive. Do i need to buy ATA cables seperatly or do they come with hard dirves? here is a link http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Maxtor_SATA.html thanks guys.

It doesn't look like you get a cable with the hard drive or motherboard from what I can see - although it should only be a couple of quid to get a SATA cable. :)

Yes, you should get the SATA cables with the MB ... if not, then OC nicked 'em out of the box. ;)

What I was saying is ... NOT ALL SATA II hard drives are 3Gb tranfer rated, the MB will be, just check that the HD is also ... waste of money otherwise. :thumb:
