Buggy AutoUpdater

I ran the AutoUpdater after installing the
new Beta1 today. However, no matter how often
I run it, it never tells me my AntiSpyware is
up to date. It just keeps downloading, with the
message:
"Upgrading definition version 5725 to version 5731".

Perform the update manually following that procedure:

Right click on MSAS icon within systray and choose shutdown.

Right click and "Save target as..."

Copy/paste these files to Program files/Microsoft Antispyware

Restart MSAS and "check for updates"

I have a similiar issue, but in this case, the signature
update is installed, but the update program does not
detect that fact. It does tell me all is up to date, but
read on...

In other words, I recently installed 5731. Every time I
run update, it reinstalls it and tells me everything is
up to date. When a new version comes out, if past
experience holds true, the new version will be installed;
however, until a newer version is provided, each update
will reinstall the previous version. Everything checks
out--the update version is correct under "about..."

FYI--I am trying to help, not to complain. I know this
is a beta version.

This is actually how the bug in MSAS update "exposes" itself - looks, like
update has been performed, but the signature files remain in older version.
The solution I quoted earlier is the only one known to get rid of this
problem.
