Mr. Bill

Today, when I turned on my Win2k machine (SP4), it went to
the desktop, then rebooted. Event log shows this:

Date: 1/21/2004
Time: 1:20:06 PM
User: N/A
Computer: TSUNAMI
Description:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck
was: 0x00000044 (0x81979ba8, 0x00000cca, 0x00000000,
0x00000000). Microsoft Windows 2000 [v15.2195]. A dump was

I can send the dump file to anyone if it would help. Any

Can't tell much from the parameters. However if this a Compaq they have
an SSD update that will resolve this.

This isn't a Compaq PC. It's a Dell PowerEdge 400sc.

Is there anything else I can supply to help in the resolution of this?

Actually I just searched online and found a match. It could be the
system is trying to suspend when it bugchecked. Take a look at this and
see if you have this driver.

If not you may have to open a case with us so we can look at a dump to
determine what is causing the stop error.

The error occurs on startup - not during shutdown or standby. And it is also
very random. It hasn't happened during the past few boot ups. I also
checked - and that .sys file is not even on my PC.

How do I open a ticket & do I have to pay for that service?

Go to this web page to read about support options.

Yes there is a charge based on product and type of support.
