Bugcheck error occurs during system scans

My Win2K machine reboots about 70% of the time when I do a task that
scans the complete system (hard drives). These tasks include Norton
Antivirus scans and Adaware hard drive scans.

These scans can take anywhere from 1-2 hours. The reboots can occur at
any time or while scanning any place of the system (no pattern). The
blue screen of death can show any of a number of tasks that are
reporting the error (e.g. ntoskernel.exe).

Here are a couple of the bugcheck log entries. They always have
different values in them:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000007f
(0x00000008, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000). Microsoft Windows 2000
[v15.2195]. A dump was saved in: D:\WINNT\Minidump\Mini032804-02.dmp.

Any ideas on this one?

Hard drive problems come to mind, possibly a small failure somewhere on
the oxide real estate the pagefile occupies. Or loose/failing RAM,
loose/failing cable/connector.
