I was using outlook express and i seem to have picked up
a virus called W32.SWEN.A@mm. I purchased norton, it
cannot find it. I used online virus searches and they
cannot find. It keeps on sending out infected emails from
my computer, i'm getting around 40 emails a day that my
emails to various adresses are infected. What can I do to
get rid of this bug?

Sometimes norton will have a specific fix for these
viruses. You have to search nortons web site.

Most likely another computer - one not owned by you - is spoofing your
address in the From info of the email. This is common behavior for many of
the worms. The ISPs do not check the full headers. Instead of sending the
notices to the actual senders, they just send out notices to the email
address in the From column.

If your antivirus says your system is clean, it probably is and the above
is the "why" for the notifications you're receiving. It does no good to
tell the sender of the notices about this since it is done automatically
via a program. Just delete the notices and don't worry about them.

Additionally: There are some worms that can damage the antivirus program or
hide from it (run only in memory). If you think your AV program may be
affected, there are online virus scans available. If you get a clean bill of
health after running one of these, that may put your mind to rest a bit.
