Bug in Windows XP Shortcut Keys?

Hi,

I had a small problem trying to set-up a SHORTCUT KEY using WINDOWS XP
PRO. Basically, I set-up SHORTCUT KEY using a WINDOWS SHORTCUT to
some file. But I then found that the SHORTCUT KEY wouldn't work as I
had already set the same SHORTCUT KEY in a different SHORTCUT FILE.
WINDOWS XP PRO simply wouldn't let me set-up the same key in the
PROPERTY PAGE for the new WINDOWS SHORTCUT FILE. This is good but the
only thing is that I had already deleted the old WINDOWS SHORTCUT
where I had created that assingment. Surely me deleting that old
WINDOWS SHORTCUT should make WINDOWS XP PRO forget that old SHORTCUT
KEY along with the deleted SHORTCUT FILE?
