bug in fill-out forms (font size)

I have a fill-out form created in an earlier version of WORD. I selected a
non-proportional fonts so that I was able to predict the amount of space
required for each field.

One of my associates has Word 2007, and when he opens the locked form, the
font format box on the menu bar is blank, and when he types into one of the
fields, the font defaults to Times 12 pt (vs. Courier 9 pt, as defined for
the field). This causes incorrect page breaks throughout the multi-page form,
creating a mess.

When I open the locked form in Word 2003 or 2000 and click in one of the
fill-in fields, the font format box on the menu bar shows the correct font as
defined when I created the form. Of course, it's grayed out since the form is
locked.

I'm not certain, but this appears to be an issue with Word 2007.

Does anyone know what's going on here?
