0x000000F4: CRITICAL_OBJECT_TERMINATION
One of the many processes or threads crucial to system operation has unexpectedly
exited or been terminated. As a result, the system can no longer function. Specific
causes are many, and often best resolved by a careful history of the problem and the
circumstances of the error message. One user, who experienced this on return from
Standby mode on Win XP SP2, found the cause was that Windows was installed on a
slave drive;

What is the computer make and model?

How does the BIOS detect the hard drive? Does it show as a master or
slave hatd drive?

Please describe the circumstances in which the error first occurred.

my laptop is a Compaq V3125AU, there is no option in BIOS to show if the HDD
is a master or slave.

i got a long history of errors and a long history with HP.
recently i sent my comp for repair as there is always a problem with the
motherboard. so they changed it and a lot of BSOD coming up. I tested both my
HDD and RAM. and the test showed nothing is wrong with them. but what i feel
is that there is a problem with the SATA controller. But whenever i email HP,
they always feel its not the SATA controller.i tried reinstalling the chipset
driver to the original HP drivers, still the errors are there.

i'm kind of pissed and tired with HP. so i decided F**K HP. they are just
some losuy dumb people inside there. that's why i post my problem here
instead writing an email to them.

Does the BIOS detect the hard drive?

Is the sata cable the original or a replacenent? Have you checked
connections? Is the cable a part only obtainable from HP?

What is the hard drive make and model?

Does the boot process ever complete?

Try comparing the boot process with information in this link:
http://www.pcguide.com/ref/mbsys/bios/bootSequence-c.html

Are you saying you are not getting BSOD errors during the boot process?

Are any devices malfunctioning? Select Start, All Programs, Accessories,
System Tools, System Information. Open Components under System Summary
and click on Problem Devices. Is anything listed there?

Are there any yellow question marks in Device Manager? Right click on
the My Computer icon on your Desktop and select Properties,
Hardware,Device Manager. If yes what is the Device Error code?

Does anything turn up in the Event Viewer Logs?

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaning
of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description
are important.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.

Is the System log populated i.e. are there enties?

Try Start, Run, type "sigverif.exe" without quotes and hit OK. What
drivers are listed as unsigned? Disregard those which are not checked.

the entries in the system log are only showing information regarding
connectivity which i think is usual, am i right?(if not please do correct me)

there is 2 unsigned drivers i.e; fdco1ins.dll and btkrnl.sys

i also had a glance to the application log and found quite a number of fault
bucket error and my synaptics driver error,

the synaptics driver error:

Faulting application SynTPEnh.exe, version 10.1.8.0, faulting module
SynTPEnh.exe, version 10.1.8.0, fault address 0x0002975c.

and the fault bucket most recent one is:

Fault bucket 137148077.

are these related to the blue screen?

thx in advance gerry.

Of the 2 unsigned drivers the second is the more interesting. btkrnl.sys
is a Blue Tooth driver and there are reports of problems but none
providing a direct reference to an 0xF4 stop erreor. The driver come
from Widcom or Broadcom. Getting an updated driver would be likely to
prove difficult.

This link may contain the solution to your SynTPEnh.exe. Uninstalling
and reinstalling is a recognised way to resolve a faulting application.
http://www.techsupportforum.com/hardware-support/laptop-support/291323-syntpenh-exe.html

http://www.synaptics.com/support/drivers/

Where there is a fault bucket report there is usually another more
helpful report. Can you post a copy?

Your blue screen report is not amongst those you have posted. The report
will contain this line:
0x100000F4(0x00000003,0x8A485280,0x8A4853F4,0x805D297C)

i'm sorry Gerry but that report on the BSOD is not there. i'm also shocked to
see that its not there. i also searched the dump file and yet it doesn't
exist.

thanks for the help in finding the unsigned driver and the synaptics.

is there anyway to know why the error is not logged and the dump file
doesn't exist?

thx in advance.

Not all Stop Error Reports are logged by Event Viewer. They are not
logged if they occur before the Event Viewer service start and there are
some specific errors not logged.

Do you have a pagefile on your C drive? This is needed for a dump report
to be created.
