BSOD with s3gsavmx.dll

Hi,

I'm using Windows XP Pro with SP2 (and various other relavent patches).
Well, out of the blue while I was surfing Windows froze and I couldn't move
the mouse or anything and a few seconds later a Blue Screen appeared. Now
every time I restart my computer, Windows gets past the initialization but
before it can load the GUI, I get the same BSOD message.

The file that it claims is corrupt is s3gsavmx.dll. I don't want to have to
format again, because the was system working perfectly until this. Is there
anything I can do? I looked on my Windows CD and noticed that there's
s3savmx.dl_ on it, but I don't see anything that looks like s3gsavmx.dll.

Could you please post the Stop Code from the BSOD?

Go to Device Manager and try to reinstall your display driver. Or if your
computer cane with a CD-ROM with drivers on it you can use it.

Rt. click My Computer and select Properties. Then select the Hardware tab to
find the Device Manager button.
