BSOD trying to boot into Safe Mode

Dear Sirs/Mams

I run Eset's Nod32 Anti-Virus. When I scan anything now, it reports:

"Error occurred while scanning MBR sector of the 3. physical disk. Error
reading sector."

That's why I ran CHKDSK (CHKDSK LOG post above).

The only problem I'm having is, I can't get into Safe Mode.
It boots into XP and SE fine with no running problems

When I try to boot to Safe Mode I get a blue screen, with
"Stop 0x0000007B",
which I found is INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

No virus shows up from running Nod32, Ad-aware 2007, Spybot, Bazooka Scanner
or Blacklight. I also ran F-Prot for DOS from DOS in Win98SE.

Any ideas on how to get her to boot into Safe Mode ?

Thanks

How are you trying to access safe mode? Is it F8 key after selecting the
operating system?

How are your drives / partitions structured for your dual booting
system?

Did you use any third party utilities to set up the dual booting system?
If yes which?

Are you getting Stop Errors messages when trying access safe mode in
both operating systems?

I would try HD Tune (freeware).
Download and run it and see what it turns up.
http://www.hdtune.com/

Select the Info tabs and place the cursor on the drive under Drive
letter and then double click the two page icon ( copy to Clipboard )
and copy into a further message.

Select the Health tab and then double click the two page icon ( copy
to Clipboard ) and copy into a further message. Also do a full surface
scan with HD Tune.

How are you running chkdsk? On the XP C drive it should run the next
time you start XP in normal mode.

Hope this helps.
