BSOD Resets Right Away

Hello!

My old mobo and CPU are dead and I am trying to move the hard drive to a
newer, faster, better combination. I have repaired the Windows XP
installation using the CD, but a stop error keeps showing up when it reboots.
The machine then reboots before I can even look at what the error is. Is
there anyway I can get it to slow down a bit so I can attempt to see what the
problem may be?

Thanks for looking!

By the way: From an old Pentium 4 w/ Intel mobo to AMD XP 64 4000+ w/
Biostar mobo & 1 GB DDR2 RAM.

Try booting into Safe Mode by restarting the computer and
hitting the F8 key until the Windows Advanced Options Menu
appears. Use the down arrow on your keyboard to select Disable
automatic restart on system failure. Hit the Enter key.
Hopefully, you'll now see the blue screen and be able to record
the error message.

Good luck

Thank you Nepatsfan. I got to stop error message to stop. However, it looks
like I may need to do a clean install to get everything working right. Arrgh!

You're welcome. Sorry to hear you may have to perform a clean installation. Before you go
that route, you might want to post a new question with details of what you've done so far
along with what's displayed in the stop error message. It's possible someone may provide a
fix that saves your current installation.

Good luck
