BSOD: Memory management - 0x0000001a (Windows XP)

0x0000001a (0x00041284 0x0536E001 0x000036BC 0xc0503000)

Is a BSOD error i get, haven't done much to the computer... its been
recently reformated and a new HDD where C: stays.

Currently using:

Microsoft Winsows XP
Professional
Version 2002
Service Pack 3

Intel(R)
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz
3.02GHz, 1.00GB of RAM

P.S. Any other information required please tell me how to get them (Im not
very computer fluent, but hey i try)

you can try to boot the computer in last known good configuration or in safe
mode

To use a Last known good configuration or Safe Boot option, follow these
steps:

1. Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On
a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you
can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.
2. Select an option when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and then
press ENTER.
3. When the Boot menu appears again, and the words "Safe Mode" appear in
blue at the bottom, select the installation that you want to start, and then
press ENTER.


step 3:

try to unplug all the external device(except mouse,keyboard and monitor)
then restart the computer

Yes i am able to go to desktop (Im on the thing now )

I read the article you supplied, thankks alot!

But it says SP2? will it have any adverse difference if i use sp2?

yes service pack 3 alread contain these two types you can check the follow

It may be the problem with the driver of the device and you may have to
update the drivers.

Thanks everyone and espeacially Muzafar.

The new HDD is probably the case (its sucking more juice when i didnt have
it before). So ill look into getting a new PS.

Are there any yellow question marks in Device Manager? Right click on
the My Computer icon on your Desktop and select Properties,
Hardware,Device Manager. If yes what is the Device Error code?

Try Start, Run, type "sigverif.exe" without quotes and hit OK. What
drivers are listed as unsigned? Disregard those which are not checked.
