i've had a few bsod's since i stuck in my new card (8800GTS), but they would flash once and the computer would restart before i could see what the error was. bare with me because i wrote this on post-it notes :D

***STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0xBF827877, 0xADDC49F8, 0x00000000).

***win32k.sys - Address BF827877 base at BF800000, Date stamp 45F013F6.

it also mentioned about disabling video drivers, or looking for updated/ stable drivers.

Well, turn OFF "auto reboot on error" and you'll get, or should get, a BSOD.

In the meantime, I'll put 2+2 and say ... you have a problem with that GC. ;)

STOP: 0x0000008E errors are typically associated with Ram problems.

Yeah turned off auto reboot on error and thats how i managed to see the bsod :).

I'll find more stable drivers for my card, i'm running betas at the moment.

I did put another gig in a while back, so i have 2 x1GB sticks in my mb. The "problems" only occured when the card was put in.

I think it might be something to do with power, its actually only a 500W psu.

Remember my RAM probs? I had BSOD's of all sorts, win32k.sys, ntfs.sys etc to name a few, I ram memtest and it failed after three minutes, took out the offending stick and all was/is fine. :)

haha yeah I do remember! silly how a stick causes so much fuss

Finished running memtest, and it didn't come up with anything.

I still wanted to make sure though, so i took out the novatech RAM I bought, and although its a gig less, it feels more stable.

:D
