bsod during ie

hi,

i just reinstalled xp home on my gateway laptop and after reinstallin all
the software that i had on there before all work well except when i go online
via IE i get the blue screen of death error then computer shuts off and
reboots. not sure what i did wrong. i did a restore backup on some things
using the backup utility. appreciate any suggestions.
