hi yol
i just upgraded from sp2 to sp3 and my system is unable to boot to
desktop.after the windows logo a BSOD appears ...............c
0000218.....registry file failure..............the registry could not
load the
hive(file)...........systemroot\system32\config\software..................then
it starts to dump my physical memory. after which it restarts again and
the cycle continues. the other thing is am able to boot to safe mode
without hustle. i really dont know what to do bout it so i was
thinking bout downgrading back to sp2 but i dont know how to do that
since i dont see it in the add and remove prog when i am in safe
mode, i didnt uninstall the sp2
before upgrading to sp3 , could it be part of the problem.

"Released one. SP3 won't even start Beta until sometime in 2007."

I meant 'Microsoft hasn't released a Service Pack 3 yet'. Lousy syntax.

Cross-post when necessary, but never multi-post. Cross-posting is when you
include two or more groups in the "Newsgroups:" section. In this scenario
the message and all responses are seen in all groups that the message was
cross-posted to. In other words any replies will automatically propagate to
the other newsgroup posts.

Multi-posting is when you post the same message to two or more groups
individually. In this scenario the message is seen in the groups it is
posted to, but the responses are only seen attached to the message (unless
you cross-post the reply) in which the response was made. So those that
frequent these groups then need to deal with or re-read the posts. It may
seem like a small thing to keep track of. But some of us actively traverse
50 or more groups. The poster also then must search out all of the posts to
see if there was a response.

Service pack 3 doesn't even exist. All you actually have is a mis-mash of
updates collected and packaged as SP3. It certainly isn't a Microsoft
service pack. I'd be looking at uninstalling the so called service pack.
