Hi, I'm running WinXP SP2, sometimes when I want to access a website it stops
responding, the browser stays searching for the site forever and after a
while I get a message that the page was not found. However if I do a ping to
www.google.com for example it responds just fine but I cannot access Google
with the browser. If I restart my computer everuthing works fine again. I
know is not a hardware problem because I have linux in the same computer and
Linux never gets disconnected. What can it be that windows randomly stops
responding browsing the internet?

Carlos,

please have a look at
http://www.michna.com/kb/WxSP2.htm#Networking_problems_after_installing_Service_Pack_2.

And please report back and let me know whether any information
in there solved your problem or not.
