browsing a child domain brings error: "no logon servers available..."

We recently added a child domain to our test Active Directory forest.
Users in the child domain can browse all computers in both domains but users
in the parent domain cannot browse computers in the child domain.
They get an error: "there are currently no logon servers available to
service the logon request."

Does anyone have any idea how to solve this? I suspect it has something to
do with the DNS configuration.
Both domains have their respective DNS servers configured for dynamic
updates, there are also 2 WINS servers, one in each domain, that replicate
with each other.

any help greatly appreciated.

Was the DNS delegation FROM the parent DNS zone
to the child zone created?

That's the first guess one would make.

In the parent domain, check for the NS records that delegate
to the child....or create "NEW delegation" to complete this
task.
