Every time my system boots up, the Internet Explorer
browser pops open and my internet home page is displayed
I have a cable connection, therefore the internet is
always available whenever the computer is on. I've read
before that it is a know problem with a solution, but of
course now that I need it I can't find it. Can someone
tell me how to keep this from happening.

Go Start | Run and type
msconfig
and press <Enter>. On the Startup tab uncheck whatever is starting IE and
click Apply and Okay.
