Browser window always restored down

Every time I open my internet browser I have to manually maximise the
window. This happens even after I have previously exited from a maximised
window.
It's only a small thing but really annoying.
I have Googled for help, without success.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Hi Stuart,

1. Open a link.
2. Don't use the maximize button.
3. Stretch the edges/corners so that the window fills the screen.
4. Close all other IE windows.
5. Close the stretched window last.

IE New Window maximizer - uses Windows API calls and automatically maximizes
every browser window you open:
