maximise windows

I'm hoping someone in this group can help me. When ever I open a new
window whilst on the net the window comes up about half screen size. I
always have to click on the "maximise" button or double click the blue
bar at the top of the screen. My question is this. Is there any way to
force windows to open in full screen mode? This has only just started
to happen. Perhaps one of my kids have tampered with a setting?
Problem is I don't know what setting.

Many thanks in advance.

Basicly, how you close, is how you open. You might try this.
Open the browser, and streach it to the max size, then Ctrl-click the X to
close it. Now all first IE windows (primary) will open max sized. Open a link
in a browser window, maximize it, and close it. Now all secondary windows
will open maxed, untill the primary window is closed. (assumes no popup
allowed)
As a single click, this is the windows default behavior, and windows has no
built in setting to change that. There are ways to add an option to the
rightclick menu, but that does Not take only ONE click. The doubleclick on
the title bar is about the easiest solution.

With IE shortcuts, you can right-click, click Properties, set the "Run:"
pane to "Maximized".

For IE instances opened from links within email and web sites, open one
IE window, drag the edges till it's the preferred size, nearly
maximized, then close the window. Also try closing the window while
pressing the Ctrl key. Usually this will help Windows remember the
preferred size. It'll be changed occasionally, when a popup window is
opened with specific size, and you'll have to do this again. Another
suggestion:

- Open a webpage. Stretch it out to fullsize. Don't use maximize.
- Choose any link on that webpage and right-click, open in a new window.
- Stretch that second window out to the desired size; don't use maximize.
- Close the first IE window. Then close that second resized window.

To get maximized windows from Desktop and QL shortcuts, create a few
shortcuts to your browser on your Desktop, or Quick Launch bar, then
edit the shortcuts:

1. Change the "Target:" to:

"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" http://lpga.com

(as an example site.)

2. After adding the internet address, change the "Run:" pane to "Maximized".

(That will make those shortcuts open IE maximized.) There's also
software available that will switch opened windows to the maximized
condition. Here's one:

Hope this helps,
