Browser settings or graphic problems ?

I recently threw away AOHell after a protracted connection issue and
have gone to a cable ISP for broadband. I am now experiencing weird
problems with graphics using IE browser as well as general graphics
problems.

Specific issues are Google Earth will not run with a "directx" error
message being displayed. We reloaded all current directx software but
to still does not work.

I use fotopic.net but the large images do not display, just the thumbs.
Thumbs from my own pictures and all other sites I go to seem to work OK

I am now unable to use Microsoft trainsim that was working the day
before cable and have attempted to upload a couple of simple games and
they will not load, quoting a graphic error.

I am using Windows xp proffessional, service pack (?) 2 and am browsing
with IE6

It has been suggested that my graphics card drivers may need an update,
but when I look via control pane / displays the graphics states "no
name".

Could anybody be kind enough to lend a hand with some suggestions
please ?

Your getting DirectX errors...

Start | Run <type in> DXDIAG <enter> and see what it's got to say.

thanks for that. ot has produced the following:

The system is using the generic video driver. Please install video
driver provided by the hardware manufacturer.

Direct3D functionality not available. You should verify that the
driver is a final version from the hardware manufacturer.

it quotes the main driver as "vga.dll". I am not really sure where to
go to find the exact drivers i need and a good site to get them without
falling for registry cleaner bots

Thanks foir the original advice, any more very gratefully recieved.

you need to identify your video card and get the most recent drivers from
the mfr's website.

this may help you identify your hardware ..

www.driverguide.com is a good alternate site for finding drivers (free
sign-up)

Another and I think better way of identifying your hardware, Everest
