??Browser Selection problem??

There are frequent times when either on the internet, or
in an email...instead of a picture I get a square block
with an X inside. What's the problem? Doesn't happen all
the time, just occassionally. My brother says it's
a "browser selection" problem...but I don't know what that
is, or how to fix it. Can anyone help? Thanks
