Browser redirect, browser crashes

H

Hall

I'm on Windows Vista running AVG anti-virus. Everything appears clean

Lately, I've had the following symptoms:
1) my Firefox browser frequently crashes on some sites if javascript
is on
2) my Google search results page suddenly switches to another site
like manufacturedirections.com
3) clicking on one of my Google search results redirects to another
site.

I've run the online scans from Norton and McAfee and yielded no
problem, and regularly run CCleaner. My Windows updates are
automatic.

Please help.

Norton and McAfee are mostly anti-virus software. You need tools to
remove other malware.

I would recommend:

SuperAntiSpyware - available from http://www.superantispyware.com
MBAM - available from http://www.malwarebytes.org

Both have free versions, both work well, and run individually, have an
excellent chance of finding your problem.

Let us know how you make out.

I've had good success with MS Defender too.
