Browser displays minimum sized windows

Please help! Everytime I open any new webpage out of IE6,
it opens in the smallest size possible. Although this is
not a very serious problem it is becoming quite the
annoyance. I am unable to figure out how to change this
possible default setting. I am sure I am not the only one
to run in to this problem and I am hoping someone can
help me out. Thanks

Open such a link.
Don't use the maximize button.
Stretch the edges/corners so that the window fills the screen.
Close all other IE windows.
Close the stretched window.
