browser disconnect

I need help. Everytime I go on the internet, I get a Cannot find server page
when the browser tries to change pages or redirect. The first page loads
fine. I have tried running spy ware removers and virus checkers and still
cannot get past the first page of whatever I am browsing. I have been able to
get around the problem by disconnecting my connection and then hitting
refresh button which then loads that page as the First page but then have to
continue disconnecting and refreshing on every page. I am using a broadband
external modem which runs fine (I am using it on a different computer with
exactly same settings to write this). The connection to internet is not
disrupted although slow. It just seems to be the browser changing pages. I am
using IE 6.

Loren,

Try flushing the DNS cache ...
Go to Start, Run, type in

cmd

Click OK or press Enter.
At the command prompt type in

ipconfig /flushdns

Press Enter.
