browser and desktop shortcuts

I use different browsers. Some programs on the web work only with IE and
hence my question:
how can I link some desktop shortcuts to webpages to work with IE only while
leaving other webpage shortcuts working with Netscape or Firefox for example?

To make that work you need a short cut to the browser "exe" file with
the URL appended to it on the target line.

That's a fault of the webmasters who only design pages for a single
browser.
