Just checked eBay and found a Brother HL 730 Laser Printer for $20.00. It
also needs a drum. I've been in this business for 13 years and I tell all my
customers if you going to buy a Laser printer, Buy HP. You'll save big bucks
on recurring costs. Pete

Brother laser printers have separately replaceable drums and toner
cartridges. The OP has probably replaced the toner cartridge about 3
times at a significantly lower cost than the combined drum and toner
cartridge of a similar HP printer. Most reviews conclude that the per
page cost is lower with a Brother printer. In addition, the "street
price" of a Brother is about 60% of an HP with comparable
specifications. I cannot say that the advice that you are giving your
customers is wrong because the reviews calculate the per page cost on
the assumption that the printer will last forever and do not provide
any information about how long the printer will actually last. If the
Brother printer dies just after the drum is replaced the per page cost
gets dramatically worse!
