broken icons

After upgrading to Vista Business many files have lost their icon images. I
looks as though they have no file association, but they open fine. Any help
you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
 
Folder Options, always show Icons ? Actually I'm not sure WHAT that does now
that I click on it
 
Bill, that didn't work. Any ideas? Several programs have their icons broken.

I've the same problem. Icons broken, file associations still work...
 
I just encountered the same problem on a pc that had Vista Business
pre-installed from an OEM. Tried different things like system restore and
"sfc /scannow". Sfc came back saying there were corrupt files that could not
be repaired, check CBS.log for more info. Yeah, that log file was
ridiculously long and I don't feel like going blind trying to read it all.
