Broadband

I have tried setting up 2 friends pcs on broadband using
Windows 2000. On both occasions the connection is just
through a modem, no router. I then get a message about
lsass.exe that it is closing the computer down. I have
noticed that the memory usage mounts up quickly. If I
then connect the pc through a firewall, it works ok. Is
there an incompatibility between Windows 2000 and
broadband?

Do the computers have up-to-date antivirus software? This is a sympton
of the Sasser worm.

you need to update the windows software (windowsupdate.microsoft.com) so it
can fix teh security issues that cause the sasser worm to take control and
shut down the computer
