Broadband network connection

Cable modem. Hard wire connection. Was working fine. Then suddenly the
network connection blinks on and off...ie: connected,
disconnect,connect,disconnect.
Cable claims computer is problem. Replaced ethernet card, still does it.
Replaced CAT5 cable. Still a problem. Anyone got any further suggestions to
the problem?
 
Borrow a friend's laptop.

May not be possible in your case, but sure would tell the story...

Alternatively, try a "repair" on the connection by double-clicking
on it from the Local Area Connection window in Network
Connections and choosing the Support tab.
