ive just got a new PC. i've installed my previous internet connexion, which
works fine, but overtime internet explorer & a few other programs start
acting strangely despite having access to a running, perfectly fine connexion.

going to a new page i have to refresh four or five times before it loads, &
i get lots of red Xs instead of images. but for the first 20mins im online
everything is fine, & i can still use instant messagers & filesharers while
this is going on. when i reboot everything is ok again. ive checked the
connexion itself, it's fine. my cache is big, & my settings are all at
default for the broadband, same as on my old pc.

Perhaps it's down to the USB connection. Is it USB2 where the other was
USB1.1. Check the drivers and settings for the USB ports. I have a cable
modem from NTL on a network card and personally I have reduced the temp
internet file cache to 20M which is plenty. Try changing the setting it may
help.

all the best
