Briefcase on RW-CD

Is this possible?

I formatted the CD using Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 (came
with the machine), I set up the briefcase in the way I
formerly had (sucessfully) when using a zip drive but
when I come to update I get a message saying the disc is
not accessible. Am I trying the impossible or simply
missing something ?
