I have a Dell Inspiron 8100, Win XP Professional, Roxio CD Creator and
external Backpack CD burner

I created a Briefcase, used Drag-to-Disc to place it on a formatted CDRW in
an external Backpack burner.

I then placed the CD into the D Drive on my Dell laptop.

When I try to open it I get a Dialog message:
"This briefcase cannot be opened because the disk is inaccessible. Verify
that the disk is accessible"

Please help me with this problem.

Are you talking about putting it in a different computer from the one
that burned the CD? If so the same Roxio packet writing software needs
to be installed on the laptop or at least a Roxio compatible UDF reader
which you should be able to get from the Roxio site.

If you are trying to access a "Drag to Disc" CD in a different PC than the
one you created it on, then you may need to install the free UDF (format
used for DtoD) reader that you may find on the Roxio CD, or download from
www.roxio.com.

I have the same Roxio program on the laptop. As a matter of fact I even
tried using a new CDRW and copying the briefcase using Roxio Creator Classic
instead of Drag to Disc. I get the same problem

I tried that too.

By the way, I can open other files on the same CDRW. It is just the
Briefcase with which I am having this problem

Roxio Creater Classic is a mastering program, while drag to disc is a
packet-writing program. They couldn't be more different. It's not
wonder THAT attempt failed.
