I got a VERY offical looking e-mail from Microsoft telling me I needed to
upgrade my XP software and virus protection. I did so and got a virus or
worm that as soon as Outlook Explore opens, it starts downloading and
sending e-mails NON-STOP. I tried unstalling it from the programs
uninstaller and restoring to a point in time when it was clean.....but I
still have it. Anybody else caught this and how do I get rid of it. It looks
like it is listed as Internet Explorer Q822925

Go to symantec.com and read the documentation on the virus and where it
installs various files.

as a general rule... no company sends emails like that,
not microsoft, not pay pal..or ebay, or your bank or ISP.

and if they do... don't click on any link in an email, go
to the supposed websites official webpage using a
websearch engine or something.

the old.. "you need to update (insert misc something or
other thing) or else blah blah blah will happen" is one
of the oldest tricks in the book.

...just incase ya dinnae know.
