reinstall xp and wipe the slate clean but i have no idea
how to, please help. when i purchased pc it came with no
xp recovery disks

Since you give no useful information about your system, you can't get
any specific help. You must have a way to reinstall Windows, either
from a disk image on a hidden partition (like in Compaqs and HPs), a
Recovery Disk (eMachines), or a Real Live Operating System cd. Contact
the people from whom you purchased the pc for help or take the machine
to a good local computer repair shop.

While I'd ask the vendor you got your PC from how to do it, as you just
might have the files you need on your hard drive, I'd still insist that
you should have a real MS XP CD in any case. If you have to buy one, so
be it. I'd suggest it strongly.
