bound vs unbound main report

my master report is unbound. I have 4 subreports.

If I set a record source for the master report, the print preview shows the
entire report (with any subreports that aren't empty) repeatedly, equal to
the number of records in the record source that the master report has been
bound to.

everything works fine when the master report is unbound, but I want to be
able to enter some parameters for the master.

You lost me. If your master is not bound to a data source to what will you
apply the parameters?

I want to apply the parameters to the subreports, but I don't want to have to
enter the parameters for each of the 4 subs.
