Bossy Folder

When I start (or restart) my windows XP pro, upon booting to the desktop a folder opens up auomatically. "C:\Program Files\Common" will be sitting open on my desktop!!! I have never been in this folder, It is not in my start up folder, I do not recall ever opening it, I don't use it, and I have to close it every single time after a reboot. It's drivin' me NUTS! If somebody has the solution on how to keep this bossy old folder closed on start up I would appreciate it. . Thanx

I can't help but the same thing started with me this
morning too -- except the folder is "System 32".

Very strange.

I would like to thank "Carey Frisch" for his reply on how to fix the common task folder problem. Unfortunately however, this did not work. I downloaded and clicked on the "XP_commonTask.exe" but was informed by it the current value was correct and no repair was needed. Does anybody else have any suggestions
