Bootup taskbar and task manager problem

Yesterday I was running and installing some programs when one of them
decided to become evil. The end result was that I uninstalled Service Pack
2 RC2 in hopes that the problem would be fixed. It wasn't.

Here's what happens:
Log into XP Pro. Everything appears cool. Then the taskbar goes to auto-
hide as usual. I move the mouse down to make it rise up to view it and it
just sits as an hourglass. I open up the Task Manager (Thank god for
Ctrl+Shift+Esc) and all the running processes, aside from System Idle, have
a blank User Name. I close explorer and open it again (Using the run
command under file) and usually in 1 or 2 times it'll work perfectly.

I don't know what I did to do this, I can get "around" it, but it's a real
hassle everytime I reboot. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Chris
