Hello!
My computer bootup stops at
"Updating ESCD ...
Building DMI Pool ."
in 7 seconds after turning on. How to make my computer bootup?
My mainboard is Chaintech 6btm. Reseting BIOS to default settings did not
help.
Best regards,
Dima

This is a bios problem. Try this: First, download and set
aside a known, good version of the bios for flashing. Second,
clear the CMOS according to the motherboard manual. Next, flash
the bios according to the motherboard and bios manuals. The
bios needs to be set up. Make sure that the setting for PnP
OS is disabled and have the bios detect all the peripherals,
viz., hard drive detection should be "auto". The computer may
boot normally. If not, visit Google, doing a search using the
words "...verifying DMI pool".

Thanks GHalleck for your suggestion!
Clear the CMOS. The good and last version of the bios is used for 5 years
already.
I will set PnP OS to disabled. The hard drive detection is "auto" already.

Dima

It has probably been 5 years since the computer was new. This
means that it is also time to change the CMOS battery. A low
battery would also contribute to similar problems.

Clearing the CMOS and seting PnP OS to disabled did not help.
I will change the CMOS battery.

Another problem could be defective cmos on the motherboard. If GHalleck's
solutions don't work, I would lean towards that as the culprit.
